No. Dr. Shaklee understood the value of Word-of-Mouth Marketing. He believed that a network of independent business owners—being in business for themselves—would be a superior marketing model.
Today, this model is being embraced by more than 100 million people in more than 100 countries around the world.
Why have I never heard of Shaklee?
Probably because Shaklee doesn’t advertise through typical marketing channels. Shaklee’s social marketing business model allows people to purchase directly from the company through an independent business owner.

Shaklee has paid it’s distributor force more than $5 billion in cash bonuses.
The Social Network distribution model is growing fast. Every week around the world, 475,000 new people join our industry.

Volume commissions and
Leadership Bonuses (Overrides)
When you buy the products at one price and resell them at a higher price you earn additional income.
As a Shaklee Member, you buy at MN (Member Net) price and save 15% off the suggested retail price (SRP). So if you buy products and sell them at SRP you make an instant 15% profit.
As your volume increases, you receive additional discounts as well as a monthly commission check.
You earn volume bonuses from 4% to 34% on the total volume (PV) of your orders and orders from those in your personal group. You may also earn an additional percentage on the volume of Distributors in your personal group who qualified for a bonus check that month.
The Volume Bonuses along with any price differentials are paid in your Shaklee bonus check on the 15th of the following month.
For those who reach the Director level, bonuses are paid on other Directors in your organization.
People in Shaklee who earn the 6-figure incomes every year have taught others how to grow a Shaklee business.
(Percentage on 2nd thru 4th levels paid based on # of first level Directors and your total Business Group Volume through all four levels of Directors.)
Does the Shaklee Plan Have a Compression Component?
Yes. Shaklee’s compression component has been in place since the inception of the compensation plan in 1956.

PV (Personal Volume) is used to determine the percentage Volume Bonus you receive at the end of each month.
PV is sometimes called “Point Value.” Each Shaklee product has an assigned PV value. The more PV you and your personal group (Personal Group Volume or PGV) generate in a given month, the higher your Volume Bonus.*
*Note: Bonus percentages eligibility for Shaklee Independent Distributors below the rank of Director are suggested only. Shaklee Business Leaders are independent business people, and may pay bonuses to Distributors and Associates in their Personal Group on a different Volume Bonus schedule so long as they publish it in advance of signing that person signing up in as a Distributor.
What does PGV stand for?
PGV (Personal Group Volume) consists of your personal volume plus the combined product orders of all downline Members, Distributors and Associates.
Distributor commission checks are mailed on the 15th of the following month in which the volume is generated.
Does Shaklee do Direct Deposit?
Yes. Direct deposit/electronic transmissions are normally received in your bank account on the 15th of the month.
What is the minimum volume need to earn a bonus?

Not much. To start your Shaklee business you need to sign up as a Gold Ambassador. The cost is as low as $299 which will provide you all of the tools and a selection of products. And at the top as a Presidential Master Coordinator you can earn much more - up to $600,000 for most current Shaklee Business Leaders at this rank. The good news is that your earning is based on your efforts so the harder you work, the more you will earn. Not many corporate jobs offer that incentive.

Q: If I eat a well balanced diet with lots of whole, fresh, fruits and vegetables, do I really need a multi-vitamin?
A: Probably so. Vitamins do a lot more than just fulfill our nutrition needs. There are many chemical reactions that happen in the body that require a vitamin to start/help/complete the reaction. There is NO guarantee that your diet will have all of the right vitamins at the right place and at the right time to facilitate these reactions. Another factor is the micronutrients in the soil are not as complete as they were just 10 years ago, probably due to the reliance on chemical fertilizers. Unless you grow ALL your food yourself, you have no idea what the condition of the soil your food was grown in. Lastly, one look at the Landmark Study should convince you that Vitalizer is a cheap insurance policy for optimum health.
Q: Do I really only need 1 teaspoonful of Vivix a day?
A: Yes— and No, 1 teaspoonful a day is the normal dose for the normal person under normal conditions. Sometimes we are exposed to greater than normal stress in a given day. This could be physical stress, mental stress, environmental stress, etc. Sometimes you just have “one of those days” where you can feel the stress. On these days it could be beneficial to take an extra dose later in the day to help combat the extra stress that has occurred. Also, athletes find that an extra dose after training on your hard workout days speeds recovery.
Q: How important is it to take Vivix with food?
A: To get the best absorption of the ingredients in Vivix, you should take your Vivix with a meal or light snack. If you forget or it is not convenient to take Vivix with food, you still get pretty good absorption even on an empty stomach. Better to take Vivix without food than to not take Vivix at all.
Q: If I have a medical condition or are on medication is it OK to take Vivix?
A: Depends on what your health care provider says. Now, DO NOT ask your doctor if you can take Vivix. You are asking them to research the product on their own time, instead ask this way: I am seriously considering increasing my intake of whole fruits and vegetables in order to increase the number of antioxidants in my diet. Do you see any reason, given my health history and medication profile, that doing this would not be a good idea. Your health care provider can now answer your question without having to spend hours figuring out what exactly is in Vivix and you will get a better and more complete answer to your question.
SPF means sun protection factor. If you wear a sunscreen with an SPF of 15, you have 15 times the protection from the sun than you’d have if you weren’t wearing any sunscreen at all. In other words, if you would burn after 10 minutes in the sun with no protection, an SPF of 15 would allow you to stay in the sun for two and a half hours (10 minutes times SPF 15 = 150 minutes or two and a half hours) before burning. Keep in mind that you would still receive a burn! Sunscreens don’t give you license to stay forever in the sun. Also remember that sunscreens aren’t cumulative: if you combine a moisturizer with SPF 15 with a sunscreen product with SPF 15, your sun protection factor is still 15, not 30. Virtually all sunscreens protect against UVB radiation — in addition, some products screen out a small part of the UVA spectrum. Enfuselle’s patented sunscreen formula (U.S. Patent No. 6,015,548) provides broad-spectrum protection against both UVB and UV radiation.
Why No Avobenzone?
A “new kid on the block” sunscreen ingredient, Avobenzone currently does NOT meet Shaklee’s strict standards for product stability — in fact, Avobenzone has shown a disturbing tendency to decompose when exposed to UV light …particularly unfortunate for a sunscreen! In addition to using low levels of chemical sunscreens, Enfuselle’s patented formulas (U.S. Patent No. 6,015,548) provide broad-spectrum protection against UVA and UVB radiation without the need for Avobenzone. Additionally, the Enfuselle Time Repair A.M.™ SPF 15 incorporates ingredients that help screen out UVA wavelengths (zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). This means that these sunscreen products provide reliable, full protection against UV damage.
Basic H Cleaning Products
Way back in 1979, Ewert, the museum Maintenance supervisor, called out to me from his tiny basement office beside the towering totem pole. “Do you have a minute, Richard? I want to show you something.” He was holding a bottle of something called Shaklee BASIC-H. "What’s this stuff, Ewert?" “This is the BEST household cleaner, man! It’ll clean like nothing else can. Man, it’ll even clean you! Why it'll leave your skin as soft as a baby's bottom! Here, you take this home with you tonight and go take a bath in it!” Basic-H??..... Not only was the product name WEIRD, but he wanted me to go home and take a BATH? in a Household Cleaner! "C’mon, Ewert, you’ve got to be pulling my leg, right?" WRONG! He was serious. Well, he was indeed Right about the bath. Soap scum is now a distant memory! From that first delightful encounter with Shaklee in 1979, I embarked on an exciting voyage of discovery. I learned how to make a difference simply by switching to earth friendly products. You can too. You'll no longer need to visit the cleaning aisle in your local supermarket. You'll save money and cleaning will be a fun thing with these amazing natural cleaners. I'm self-employed in the carpet and janitorial cleaning business and absolutely love Shaklee's cleaners for the powerful way they lift off dirt and for their economy. I'm ashamed to say that for many years though I continued to clean carpets using commercial carpet cleaning detergents, thinking that Shaklee had nothing that would work. Then one day, I found myself short of the regular shampoo I was using and there was no time to re-stock and make it to the cleaning appointment. There was Shaklee's liquid laundry product on my shelf by the washing machine. I put 2 oz. into my sprayer filled with water and rushed off to the job. WOW! The carpet looked like new. Now it's Shaklee 100% in my home AND my business.
